Finding the Inspiration Within

0

Still WatersWow – the blog date stamp says it all – this year hasn’t gone exactly according to my “master plan”.  With motherhood underway,  I have found new clarity in who I am and what I am creating in the world.  I have found limits to old, unhealthy behaviors such as skipping meals, lack of sleep, and being “too busy” which I previously prided myself on as being part of the fabric of being an entrepreneur.

The pressure of pregnancy on my “I can do it all” attitude has been an incredible distilling factor.  AND I have to also give due credit to The Fresh Entrepreneur program that I recently did via Ladies Who Launch for challenging me to take all the business planning I have done to this point and run it through the filter of my authentic branding.

Here’s what my distilling of my vision and my commitment to my business and my life has given me:

I have forgiven myself for initially creating a business model which I have worked for three years to fit myself into because I chose the business based on the logic of doing business versus the passion of my heart.  When I say “forgiven” I mean I have finally allowed myself to let go of the vision I first painted because it hasn’t inspired me at my core and thus I have been unable to communicate it effectively to others.

I find I am not alone in this – many people start businesses because the model makes “logical sense” …. but here’s the problem with “logical sense” – usually the brain is plugged in, working overtime and the heart has not been summoned to sense the true inspiration in the work.   I truly believe that the floodgates to prosperity and providence in our work are only locked until we let our hearts move our businesses instead of our brains. (disclaimer – this is not to say you leave your intelligence at the door!)

I leave you with this quote by Goethe.  I am seeing it come to life now – even though I am putting finishing touches on my revised business, things are already flowing from it and I am not “working” at it at all! The people, the opportunities and the support is showing up and I haven’t even started asking around yet….be in the flow.  Namaste!

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
